One killer, four survivors, five generators. An asymmetric horror game built inside Minecraft, in the shape of Dead by Daylight.
Dead by Flashlight is a Fabric mod for Minecraft. Four survivors start in the dark with nothing but a torch and each other; one player hunts them. The survivors repair five generators to power the exit gates and get out. The killer's job is to stop all four of them.
Everything you would expect from the genre is here: generators with skill checks, pallets to drop and vault, lockers to hide in, hooks to be sacrificed on, perks and add-ons and offerings, a bloodweb to spend bloodpoints in. Three killers so far, each with a rigged model, an animation set and a power of their own.
Rounds are matched by a small coordinator server and then played peer to peer: one player hosts the world and the rest connect to them, so there is no central game server to keep alive. Between rounds you sit in a lobby, spend what you earned, and pick what you are bringing.
The in-game store has capes and killer skins. Most are bought with in-game currency. A couple are given to people who are members of the project's YouTube channel, and that is the only reason the mod ever asks you to sign in with Google: to find out which channel you are, so it can check whether you are a member.
Signing in is optional — nothing in the game is locked behind it except those few capes. What is stored, and how to delete it, is on the privacy page, along with a button that does it.
